Norco Sustainability

Norco began in 1895, when a group of 40 farmers gathered under a tree at Clunes, near Byron Bay, to discuss how they could come together to secure a better and more profitable future for the dairy farmers of the Northen Rivers by exercising the principles of collation. They knew then, what we still live by today, that we are stronger together. 129 years later, Norco Co-operative is Australia's largest and oldest dairy co-operative committed to creating a sustainable farming future for generations to come. We are committed to becoming one of the most sustainable dairy manufacturers in Australia.

Norco's sustainability strategy is built on three pillars and six goals to underpin our vision.

PLANET

Norco as a business is deeply connected with our planet, with both through a reliance on and an impact on the natural environment. Our farmers depend on the natural resources of their land to produce the raw milk that we rely on for our products. The way we source, produce and package our products has significant impacts on the natural environment, which need to be appropriately measured and managed. We are committed to Thirty by 30 and Fifty by 50. This means a 30% reduction in carbon intensity of our Scope 1 & 2 emissions by FY30, based on a FY20 baseline; and Net Zero by FY50.
