The QDO ran a ‘Cream of Australia’ Cutest Cow Competition this year at the Ekka as part of their launch of the Go Local Dairy Campaign which encourages consumers to buy locally produced dairy products. This campaign asked the public to submit a vote for which cow in the dairy pavilion they thought was the cutest. It was all part of promoting the interaction between the public and the exhibitors and provided the opportunity for farmers to connect with the consumers. The competition ran from Monday until Friday morning. Overall there were 1,300 votes and the overwhelming winner with one third of the votes was aptly named “Withawye Beauty Queen” owned by James Dunne of Beaudesert.
