Norco Rural/Agri is a manufacturer of high quality stockfeed and owns and operates around 28 rural stores in Queensland and NSW, carrying more than 12,000 different agricultural products

You will have a customer focused approach to provide agricultural advisory and sale service to farm clients and to build business partnerships with our major customer base through the provision of sound technical advice. 

To be successful in these casual roles based in Alstonville, Casino and Kyogle, you will need to possess strong interpersonal skills, be enthusiastic and self-motivated with a sales focus.

  • Proven rural sales, merchandising & marketing skills to continue strengthening an exciting customer base.
  • Technical skills in Agricultural Science, Animal Health or Agronomy is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the rural industry along the east coast.
  • Proven ability to be a motivated team player within a small team environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to rural customer service with the ability to competently advise customers with the sales role.
  • Demonstrated excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy skills including Microsoft office, POS and administration skills.
  • Experience working in a rural retail and warehousing environment desirable
  • Drivers and forklift licence essential.

The purpose of this role is to provide commercial strategic finance advice and support to the CEO and play a pivotal business support delivery role to members of the Executive Leadership Team and their respective Business Units.  Anticipate, manage and translate risks as this organisation moves towards a business environment based on growth and innovation.  Ensure business services such as finance, business systems, assets, payroll, governance and ICT are provided in a customer focused manner.  As a member of the ELT, the incumbent will need to contribute a collaborative approach to the formulation of strategy, policy and decisions made.  Strategic in nature with the ability to be close to the technical action and most importantly develop the team. 

We seek a highly talented, qualified Chief Financial Officer (CA, CPA or ACCA), with 10 years plus experience in a FMCG environment (food manufacturing) and demonstrated leadership skills coupled with recent M&A experience.  Your technical understanding of accounting, taxation and audit principles, concepts and strategy, together with regulatory and legislative frameworks is a key requirement, with Big Four professional services experience being highly regarded.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will manage the day to day performance of Milk Production to ensure timely, economic and quality production for our customers.

This is a diverse and challenging role that requires a proactive and highly motivate individual who can support and lead an experienced team in a fast moving 24 x 7 operation. With Norco’s plans to increase their offering and market share both nationally and internationally. You will be committed to best practice and support the businesses growth strategy.

The successful candidate will need address the following selection criteria:

  • Natural ability to ensure Workplace Health & Safety standards is upheld.
  • Natural ability to ensure company Policies & Procedures are adhered to.
  • Demonstrated skills in production planning to ensure maximum plant efficiency and minimal waste.
  • Ability to manage material inventories in line with the production plan.
  • Demonstrated skills in staff rostering, training and management.

  • Ability to manage and resolve complex problems

  • Demonstrated understanding of Continuous Improvement principles.

  • Demonstrated effective/natural communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP).
  • Demonstrated skills in use of Root Cause Analysis tools.

The role also requires demonstrated experience in Milk Production, ability to fault find mechanical processes and knowledge in waste water treatment systems. Together with qualifications in Food Technology or Dairy would be highly regarded.

Norco Co-operative Ltd, was established in 1895 and has grown from a regional dairy co-operative to a national force in Rural Retailing, Agribusiness and Food Manufacturing. 

We are looking for an experienced and energetic Sales Agronomist to fill a role within the Northern Rivers area, based in the Lismore area.

To be considered for this role you need to demonstrate the following selection criteria in an application:

  • A knowledge of farm input industry products and their use in the Northern Rivers
  • Recent Agronomy experience providing “on farm” advice
  • Proven sales and retail experience in a similar environment
  • Natural customer relations and communications skills
  • Demonstrated motivation towards success and achievement
  • Ability to work productively in a small team
  • Ability to work in the field 3-4 days per week
  • Forklift & current drivers licence preferred
  • Administration and sound computer skills with POS and Microsoft applications
