Territory Manager
Brisbane North

Norco Foods is a 100% Australian Farmer owned Cooperative with a strong range of Australia’s leading dairy brands, Norco has a sizeable share of the Australian market along with a substantially growing Beverage Brand product portfolio, food service range, and a unique cheese business sold Nationally.

We are looking for an energetic person to fill the full time role of a Territory Manager for our Fresh Beverage division role based in and around the Brisbane North area.

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the successful applicant will become a key member of the sales team. This role involves implementing and achieving the company sales, business priority plan and objectives while developing a professional business relationship with the management of each store in a designated territory. This role requires a high level of communication skills with both internal and external customers and the ability to negotiate for rewarding outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Present, promote and sell products to existing and prospective customers.
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs.
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
  • Reach out to customer needs through cold calling.
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within agreed time frame.
  • Supply management with weekly reports on customer needs, competitive activities and potential for new products and services.
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments.
  • Continuously improve through feedback.

    Selection Criteria:

    • Proven experience as a sales representative within Independent Supermarkets / Route channel.
    • Sound computer skills in a networked application including CRM/SAP would be an advantage.
    • Excellent selling, communication and negotiating skills.
    • Prioritizing, time management and organization skills.
    • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales.
    • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs.

    Our Opportunity

    Reporting to the Strategic Procurement Manager this role will be engaged & responsible for developing and driving diverse packaging projects across multiple categories and manufacturing sites within the Norco Food Group.

    Key Duties and responsibilities include:

    Identify opportunities to develop cost reduction activities within the Norco business

    • Engaging with Internal and external stakeholders in Identifying “fit for purpose” packaging solutions and opportunities.
    • Managing and delivering packaging technical activities for new product development, renovations, packaging innovations, productivity and sustainability initiatives
    • Ensuring technical feasibility and successful implementation of packaging projects
    • Keeping records, generating reports and updates relating to the development through to successful execution  of projects
    • Developing project timelines for packaging initiatives / activities, communicating risks and mitigation plans 
    • Stakeholder engagement - Marketing, Sales, Operations , NPD team, Procurement, Quality and Suppliers

    Selection Criteria

    • The successful applicant will have a Tertiary qualification in Food and/or Packaging.
    • Must have at least 5 years' experience in packaging development in either Dairy, Beverage or FMCG industry with a brand owner and/or with packaging suppliers.
    • Strong commercial and analytical skills.
    • Ability to think strategically, operate cross-functionally and influence with confidence at a senior level.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong time management, planning and organisational skills.
    • An ability to display a high level of initiative is essential for this role.

    Experience in working with the following materials would be preferred;

    • Blow Moulded
    • Rigid plastics
    • Paperboard & Folding Cartons
    • Flexibles
    • Corrugated Cartons
    • Pressure Sensitive Labels
