Shift Electrician / Automation Technician

We are currently looking for a highly skilled, energetic and flexible Shift Electrician / Automation Technician for our busy milk manufacturing operation in Raleigh, employing in excess of 120 staff.  If you thrive on turning challenges into opportunities, enjoy working within a team that empowers you to get the job done and with an organisation that works on lean principles and is fluid in its ability to react to change, then this could be the ideal job for you.

This role is a full time permanent position that requires the ability to work a flexible shift roster and able to respond to calls outside business hours from time to time. As Shift Electrician, the position will be part of a team of electricians and mechanical fitters, and may be required to assist with mechanical work from time to time.

The purpose of this position is the provision of preventative and corrective electrical maintenance and troubleshooting programming / control faults as part of the factory’s maintenance team. The position will also be involved with electrical and system control projects.

Ideally, the successful applicant will possess the following essential & desirable selection criteria.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Demonstrable skills and experience in relation to WHS and electrical safety.
  • Current A Grade Electrical Licence.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC and Citect SCADA based automation systems.
  • Knowledge of ASI communication, E&H instrumentation and Vision systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • RSLogix programming software experience and Powerflex VSD knowledge.
  • Ability to work shift work and overtime.

      DESIRABLE SKILLS:

      • Knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems.
      • Understanding of food manufacturing processes and hygiene requirements.
      • Dairy manufacturing experience.
